Spring is in the air. We are all excited that Spring is finally here and soon we will be able to plant flowers, spruce up the grounds and enjoy some outdoor activities. Time will tell if our peat pot seed starters make it in the ground! May is a very busy month for us! We celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, National Nurse’s Week, National Skilled Nursing Care Week and Memorial Day. We have exciting news to celebrate! We can now have entertainers and volunteers in the building (with set policies in place). We will start to safely gather for entertainment & happy hour on some Fridays. We are going to have two entertainment sessions to keep our groups smaller for now. We ask that all residents wear masks and keep a safe distance when gathering in groups.
Please join us for muffins with mom on Mother’s Day, May 9th from 9:00am-11:00am. Please RSVP to agerlach@thegardenscr.com by May 6th.
National Skilled Nursing Care week is May 9th-15th. “Together Through the Seasons” is our theme this year. This is a time to honor the collaborative commitment of skilled nursing care facilities and staff in providing compassionate care to their residents during this unprecedented time. The residents and staff will be involved in fun activities together throughout the week. Each day of the week we will celebrate a different season starting on Monday-Spring, Tuesday-Summer, Wednesday-Fall, Thursday-Winter, and Friday we celebrate the City of 5 Seasons! We will have an ‘all about bee’s discussion’ with honey tasting, making homemade ice cream, have a frozen t-shirt contest, apple tasting, hot cocoa bar, cake walk, and pass the present game. Friday, we will celebrate all seasons with the Accordion Club for happy hour and a surprise guest speaker! See, I told you May was busy! I hope you all enjoy the beauty that is Spring, and May all your weeds be wildflowers!
