What we are doing at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids to protect our residents and mitigate the spread of COVID-19? This is a common question and although this list is not all inclusive it gives an overview of steps we are taking to help mitigate the spread of illness.
- Restricting visitors
- Educating staff and residents on social distancing
- Restricting unneeded deliveries and services
- Educating staff and residents on ways to reduce spread
- Cover cough
- Wash hands
- Wear masks
- Stay home
- Balancing wants vs. needs
- Health screens for all who do enter the facility
- Those who do not pass cannot enter
- Isolating symptomatic staff and required testing
- Reducing exposure by limiting group activities
- Masks at all times for staff
- Staff to wear goggles with all care
- Reducing exposure by limiting group dining
- Health screens for all residents at least daily
- Isolating symptomatic residents and required testing
- Limiting unneeded appointments
- Discouraging use of the ER due to HIGH risk of exposure
- Not sharing staff with other agencies and organizations
Thank you for all the support during this complicated time.
