July is like a breath of fresh air. This month we are celebrating national parks! We will reminisce about camping, walking songs, music inspired by national parks, Yellowstone and beyond and of course we are making s’mores bars! We are going to “park” it and enjoy.
I am looking forward to our wide range of entertainment for the month of July! We continue with our Friday happy hour at 3:00PM, starting on the 2nd with Betty Debban on the piano. Next up is the Accordion Club on the 9th, Troy Peters presenting his magic show on the 16th, Leo Shima on the 23rd, and Clay the Midnight Rider on the 30th. On July 6th we will have the Kona Ice truck stop in the back lot at 3:00PM. Come on out and get some flavored Ice! Marci’s Memorables will be back as Betsy Ross on July 14th at 2:30PM. We had such a great turn out for Cowboy Church presented by Bill Hopp that he will be back to do it again on July 15th, thank you to all who came out and tried something new, see you there next time! July 21st at 2:00PM we will have a visit from Balaam’s Donkey named Jack and his mule friends, this will be held in the back lot. Make sure to stop by and check them out.
We are happy to partner with Orchestra Iowa and offer music therapy the 3rd Monday of the Month at 3:10PM it will be held in the 100-hall dining room. Amy has been providing music therapy in the memory care wing and is excited to share her talent with the rest of the building.
It has been so great to get back to our group activities as a whole facility. We love getting together in the piano lounge with all our friends! We really enjoyed reminiscing with penny candy, Jamaican me crazy for coffee & donuts and our wine and cheese tasting last month! We will have to do it all again but next time NO LIMBURGER! 😊
