Activities in Action

I can’t believe it’s July already, time really does fly when you’re having fun!  We’ve had a great start to the summer so far!  We have been enjoying our walk and talks and having ice cream after for a nice cool down treat.  The Freeze ice cream truck was a big hit, thanks to all who came out to enjoy the ice cream and good company (please let me know if you would like to place an order for delivery from the Freeze).  We hope to have them back again soon.

We have been having small group activities with the same restrictions. These small groups can only have 10 or less residents, sitting at their own table, or maintaining 6ft apart. We will rotate residents during these small groups so everyone that wants to participate is able to.  WE ALL MUST WEAR MASKS when outside of our rooms and at activities.  We sure do miss the “old days” but it is nice to at least be able to feel like we are back together again.

We are starting July off right with an outdoor music event on the 2nd in celebration of the 4th of July!  We hope the weather cooperates.  This month we have a few reminiscing activities such as remembering Summer Vacations, Lawrence Welk, Judy Garland, days before air conditioning (Hot Under the Collar), and Disneyland vs. Disney World.  We are going to focus on Self Care as we need it more than ever right now.  We will celebrate International Day of Friendship and Uncommon Instruments.  We know times are hard right now without being able to hold our loved ones, but we are staying strong and most importantly safe and healthy.  Have a great month of July!
