Long Term Care and Skilled Nursing Residents and Families

Please remember to clearly label all of your loved ones clothes with their name. The holidays brought lots of new clothing into our facility and not all has been marked yet. Do so as soon as possible so nothing gets misplaced! See Brenda our Housekeeping Supervisor for questions.

Come Visit Our Growing Memory Care!

The Gardens of Cedar Rapids is fortunate to offer memory care as a part of our Assisted Living Facility. Assisted living memory care is a staffed, secured living space designed to meet the specific needs of individuals with Dementia. There are numerous benefits to residing in memory care and The Gardens of Cedar Rapids is ready for you to come experience them here!

Features of Our Memory Care

Intimate and Homelike

The layout of our memory care is specifically designed for those with Dementia. The common area offers wide open spaces and separated living and dining sections to alleviate the potential for over stimulation. And with just 12 beds it is the perfect size to feel right at home.

Trained Assistance

As Dementia progresses behaviors change. Behaviors can start and stop at a moment's notice. It is not the person's fault, it is the progression of the disease.  Not being properly equipped to handle these changes can cause a lot of stress on the caregiver. Our staff is trained on the progression of the disease, the behaviors that may arise, and how to handle them.

Personalized Care

No two people are alike and should not be treated as if they are. At The Gardens of Cedar Rapids our care is tailored to our resident's needs, interests, and preferences.

Not just BINGO

Our facility offers a variety of music, art, cognitive, spiritual, individual, and social programs that are designed to meet the specific needs of those with Dementia. Talk more with our Recreation Program Director Eva to ask any questions or for more information on how the memory care calendar is designed!
