Happy New Year! I know things are “different” this year, but I hope everyone had the happiest of holidays! We had some fun around here painting festive wood ornaments, making snowflakes, and holiday wreaths. We would like to thank everyone who helped make the holidays special!
In the month of January, we celebrate Activity Professionals week the 24th-30th. Activities are an important part of our resident’s daily routine. Covid has shown us new ways of “getting together” all while keeping our distance. We are now trying everything virtually that we can. We do virtual visits with family and friends, music entertainment, church services, tours, and we even watched Christmas lights virtually! Thank you to all the residents for trying new virtual activities. As activity professionals, our goal is to provide activities that are not only fun but also provide social interactions, intellectual stimulation, physical health and enhance quality of life. Please acknowledge our activity professionals for their hard work and dedication to the activity department.
This January we are ringing in 2021 with a flashback to the 1940s, and much more. We will be remembering songs from the 1940’s, does it jive in the 1940’s discussion, fad’s and fashions of the 1940’s, Price is Right-1940’s edition, and food for thought-candies of the 1940’s.
