Meet Our New Staff!
Dallas Urbain
Dallas will be working as our Assisted Living Director of Nursing!
Dallas started her health care profession at the age of 16 working as a CNA. She has been a nurse for 9 years and has always enjoyed working with the elderly. She has been a long term care nurse, primary care nurse and for the past 2 years the Assisted Living Director at Woodland Park Assisted Living.
Dallas says, "I truly feel so blessed to be where I am at today. I want to help all the tenants as if they were my own family members. I enjoy assisting families with the transition for their loved one."
Dallas lives in Onslow, Iowa with her wonderful husband who is a 6th grade school teacher. Together they have grown their family and have four wonderful kids. They currently reside on an acreage with four dogs, farm cats, and twelve horses.
In her free time Dallas enjoys baking and cooking for her family, playing in the garden, and spending quality time with her family. They enjoy horseback riding and camping with their horses. Even her four year old rides his own horse!

Bridget Martin
Bridget will be working as our social worker and activity assistant. She recently graduated from Mount Mercy University with her BA in Social Work and Psychology. She grew up in Mount Vernon, Iowa and currently lives in Cedar Rapids with her roommate and 2 puppies they temporarily foster. She has one older brother who serves in the Air Force. Bridget enjoys bike rides, anything "True Crime" related, and vintage shopping and antiquing. We are thrilled to have her! Welcome Bridget!

Car Show
On Tuesday, August 7th, beginning at 3 p.m. be sure to stop by our front parking lot and check out the car show provided by The Antique Auto Club of America!
Free popcorn and ice cream will be served inside!
Music and Karaoke with Loco Lee!
He's back again! Sunday, August 12th from 1-3pm in our Skilled Dining Room.
Richard "Loco" Lee is a local musician who also works on the nearby railroads. Come listen to some smooth grooves and classic tunes fresh off the tracks!
Assisted Living Brunch
Join us Friday, August 24th at 10 am in our assisted living dining room for our monthly assisted living brunch! This complementary brunch is available to tenants and their family and invited guests. Please R.S.V.P. to Eva by August 20th. ecoblentz@thegardenscr.com or call (319)930-8768.
Coffee Club
Join us every Monday morning from 9-10am in our Piano Lounge for coffee and conversation at our coffee club! Anyone is invited to join! Come to see our beautiful facility, to learn more about our services, or just to chat! Receive a complementary mug on your first visit!

Resident Spotlight
Karen Rohlena
Karen was born on May 17th, 1939 on a farm between Tiffin and Iowa City. She grew up there. Karen graduated from Oxford High School. On June 12th, 1960 Karen married Neil Rohlena. The couple has two children together, Randy and Renee. Over the years they have enjoyed being involved in many clubs and organizations. Karen has received highest honors for her involvement in Campfire Boys and Girls. Karen loves Disney and has visited Disneyland in Florida 35 times! In her free time Karen enjoys keeping in touch with her family and many friends, crafting, watching game shows, and playing different games, especially dominoes. Join us August 23rd at 3:00 pm in our long term care dining room as Karen shares her spin on one of her favorite dishes, deviled eggs!

Meal Punch Cards and R.S.V.P.'s
Planning to join us for a meal? We LOVE having guests at our table! Please let us know you are coming 24 hours before your visit so we can get your meal ready!
Regular visitor? Be sure to purchase a meal punch card! These are located at our front desk. Purchase 5 or 10 meals at a time. Your server will ask to see your punch card at the time of your meal.
Labeling Laundry
If you or your loved one resides in the long term care end of our facility please remember to clearly label all laundry with a name. This ensures all clothing gets back to its proper owner. For any questions please see our Housekeeping Manager, Brenda.
Weekend Courtesy
We love having visitors in our building! Just a reminder to please be respectful of our facility even during weekend hours. The piano is only to be played by those who know how and clean up after family events is appreciated.
