It is hot and even more hot than many years prior.  Farmers are waiting for rain in most spots in Iowa.  It is spotty to say the least all over the state.  Near my hometown of Ames, we have had ample rain.  Most corn is nearing the tassel stage and silking is ready to start.  The corn will get ripe soon and will produce rows of beautiful corn waiting to get harvested.  Farmers will have it for sale in roadside stands.  People get very hungry for it this time of year.  Gardens are a really good thing to have right now.  Flowers are in full bloom and are very beautiful.  Don’t forget to water them in the dry heat!
