Meal Punch Cards
We love having visitors at our table for any of our delicious meals! If you are a regular visitor for meals please purchase a meal punch card from Tina at our front desk. All meals are only $5.00 and our punch cards are sold in 5 or 10 meal increments. Your server will ask to see your punch card at the time of your meal.
And just a reminder, a 24hr. notice of your attendance is greatly appreciated so that our kitchen staff can make appropriate accommodations. Thank you! See Tina at our front desk for questions.
Labeling Laundry
If you or your loved one reside in our long term or skilled care facility, please make sure that all laundry is clearly marked with yours or your loved one's name or initials. This ensures that all laundry is returned to their proper owner. For assistance or questions please speak with Brenda our Housekeeping Manager. Thank you!
Transportation to Appointments
We are happy to offer transportation to appointments for assisted living tenants on Thursdays during business hours. We appreciate a week's notice of appointments so that we can accommodate everyone's schedule. Please speak with Terry or Eva for questions or scheduling.

Resident Spotlight
Richard Haddy
Richard Haddy was born on December 15th, 1927 near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The specific location was called the "lower end." Now it is known as the the Newbo District. He grew up there with one younger sister who lives in Arizona. He attended McKinley Junior High and the took classes at Coe College, later attending the University of Iowa for his degree in music. He started playing the piano at age 3, and can remember getting to play in the school programs growing up and loved it.
After he attended the University of Iowa he left for New York City, working as a musician, playing for many well known celebrities including Frank Sinatra. He was fortunate to play in almost all 50 states including Alaska and Mexico.
What brought him back to Iowa was his father who had become ill. He took care of him until his passing. The two built a wonderful relationship during that time. In his free time Richard likes to watch TV, especially TMC. He also loves to play the piano and share his passion for music with people. You will often find him playing for anyone who may listen in The Garden's Piano Lounge.
Join us, Wednesday, April 24th at 3:00pm in our Piano Lounge for a special happy hour dedicated to Richard! He will be sharing his gift of piano playing with us and food and drinks will be served.

Gardening Tips from our Master Gardner Emil
Want a weed-less lawn?
Keep your lawn attractive by keeping a 2in. grove. It smothers a lot of weed growth and dandelions. During the growing season be sure to keep after weeds, insects, and other pests. If you need help, garden stores will often offer a variety of materials to kill weeds and dandelions and deter bugs and insects.
Having trouble with deer and other pests?
To deer-proof your plants use cedar oil. Place it on the ground outside of the area of your plants. A 1ft. border around once a year will be adequate. Deer and other animals don't like it. Cedar oil will deter from insects, beetles, deer, and rabbits.
