“And the world came together as the people stayed apart”. We are making the best of the Covid-19 pandemic and staying safe here at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. I want to thank each and every one of you for all the support and understanding through this difficult time. The community and families have been coming up with some great ideas to brighten our resident’s days! We know it is not easy, but we will stay strong and get through this together.
As you all know group activities are postponed until further notice. We the staff are all working together to have 1:1 and independent activities offered. We are going to try some hallway exercise and bingo. This is where the residents will sit outside their door and Tami, Julie and I will be out in the hallway directing the exercise. This may take some time to figure out what works best so be patient with us! We are going to have happy hour door to door and root beer float Friday’s.
We have a few things to celebrate this April. April Fools Day, Volunteer Appreciation Week, Easter, Earth day, and Arbor Day! On April Fool’s day we have a Fact or Foolery activity. We will be making cards for our special Volunteers. We want to THANK YOU for all that you do for us here at The Gardens! We miss you all! We will have an Easter egg guessing game, discuss endangered species and have some fun with trivia for Earth day. Let the April showers bring us May flowers!
